Registration Requirements

To register to vote: 

You must be a United States Citizen, at least 17 years old, and a permanent resident of Monroe County. You must be 18 years old by Election Day to be a qualified voter.

You must be a registered voter by the time that the books close for an election, or you cannot vote in that election. 

You may only vote in elections for which you are eligible. For example, only Key West residents may vote in Key West City Elections. 

In Primary Elections, you may vote only on the candidates in your political party. Therefore, you must declare party preference (or no party) when registering. 

In general Elections everyone votes the same ballot, regardless of party affiliation. 

It is your responsibility to keep the Elections Office advised of your current address.
